Northern Heritage brings you the best publications to help explore and discover this fantastic area of Britain, past and present.

Choose from the most extensive range of local books, maps and DVDs, including nostalgic social history, to walking and cycling guides covering Durham, Northumberland and the Borders, many of which are unique to Northern Heritage. We have an ever-expanding range of local gifts and calendars, all inspired by our beautiful region.

Northern Heritage is a local book distributor and supplies gift shops, tourist information centres and museums throughout the North East, Cumbria and the Borders and offers a comprehensive mail-order service.

In June 2018, Northern Heritage was appointed the official distributor of Ordnance Survey maps in the North East.   

Northumberland Tourist Information Centres, Northumberland National Park, National Trust and Tyne & Wear Museums are among the retail customers Northern Heritage supplies.

Our Showroom and Shop

Our showroom lies just 5 minutes north of Northumberlandia on the Blagdon Estate. We also have nearby the Milkhope Centre where you will find cafés, a great range of shops and the award-winning Blagdon Farm Shop.

Our showroom is open Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.
