The Upper Coquetdale Film Group (UCFG) started making short films during the 1970s, with a focus upon the landscape and people of the Coquet Valley.
This DVD is one of a series featuring films produced by The Upper Coquetdale Film Group, digitally re-mastered to DVD from the original 16mm film now housed in the Northern Film and Television Archive.

This fascinating old film opens with a group of local men, members and supporters of the famous Rothbury
Pipe Band, gathered in the garden of a remote cottage to chat, drink beer and play their instruments in the summer sun. Together they celebrate the Coquet Valley, its flora, fauna, border history and people, past and present. This extraordinary movie features ordinary people filmed in some of the remotest places in England.
